Since the industrial revolution the average temperature of our planet has risen short of one degree. While this is concerning, the most worrying aspect is two thirds of that variation occurred from the second half of the 1970s and the warming of the earth’s surface is the main cause for many natural disasters around the world.

Guests from all over China came together to hear from Peak Re’s experts on how to build resilience towards natural catastrophes. Speakers also included scholars and other experts from the Shanghai Central Meteorological Observatory to share their insight on monitoring and forecasting typhoon associated risks.

The event was held at a very special venue, the Shanghai Meteorological Museum, which is a 150-year-old historical building.
